Our programs have garnered local and national acclaim, including awards for public health innovation. We proudly operate Open Door Health, Rhode Island’s first LGBTQ+ clinic, and Food on the Move, a leading mobile produce program. We also spearhead the Nourish RI coalition to boost healthy eating through SNAP incentives and run a major Ryan White HIV treatment program. Our diverse initiatives tackle food insecurity, nutrition, HCV, HIV, STDs, and more, all aimed at reducing health disparities and improving community well-being.
RIPHI is currently seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Senior Director of Philanthropy to build and oversee our donor relations program and manage fundraising initiatives.

The Rhode Island Public Health Institute seeks an Internist or Family Practice Physician for Open Door Health, our community-based clinic in Providence, Rhode Island. Open Door Health is committed to serving Rhode Island’s diverse community. We offer primary care, gender affirming care, sexual health care, family planning services, and operate a walk-in clinic for sexually transmitted infections. The clinic focuses on sexual health and primary care for members of the LGBTQ+ community as well as Latinx patients.
The Physician will report to the Chief Medical Officer at the Clinic and work closely with the clinical team.
In accordance with established policies and procedures, the Patient Navigator collaborates with the medical team and reports to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations. Patient navigation in the primary care setting refers to the assistance offered to healthcare consumers to help them access the healthcare system and chart a course through it, overcoming any barriers to quality care. They are responsible for coordinating patient care for select at-risk individuals with clinically significant challenges related to medication management, socioeconomic factors, or medical comorbidities. The patient navigator functions as the guide who will assist patients with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community to move through the complexities of the healthcare system. Importantly, the patient navigator will perform data entry to evaluate patient outcomes and manage data systems to support patient retention in care.
