Safer sex means taking steps that can reduce your risk and your partners’ risks of getting an STI, HIV, and of becoming pregnant. Safer sex can include things like knowing your and your partners’ STI statuses, choosing lower risk sexual activities, using condoms and other barriers, using birth control.
