Do It RIght, based out of the Miriam Hospital HIV/STD Prevention Clinic, is a new social marketing campaign to promote HIV and STD awareness and screening across Rhode Island. The HIV/STD Prevention Clinic at the Miriam Hospital Immunology Center is now the only clinic in the state to offer comprehensive STD screening, including for HIV, HCV, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia. The HIV/STD Prevention Clinic also provides biomedical interventions to at-risk individuals, including post-exposure (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). The clinic is home to one of the nation’s first and largest PrEP programs.
Do It RIght raises awareness about the Miriam’s free services and offers free testing and care irrespective of ability to pay. The clinic is supported by the RI Department of Health and The Miriam Hospital.
Along with free and comprehensive HIV/HCV/STD testing and treatment services, the HIV/STD Prevention Clinic also provides education and access to preventive services including condom distribution, risk-reduction counseling, PEP, PrEP, linkage to primary care, substance abuse, mental health and social service referrals.
The STD Clinic also maintains a PEP hotline (1-401-460-2437), which provides 24/7 access to emergency HIV prevention for clients with recent HIV exposures.”
